Tower Performance, Inc.'s
Opti-Pac fill is manufactured by Tower Components, Inc. There are two styles available: the Opti-Pac 1200 and the
Opti-Pac 1900.
The Opti-Pac 1200 fill is made with rigid PVC per CTI Standard 136(88). Standard thicknesses are 8, 10 and 15 mils.
Special thicknesses are available upon request. The standard pack dimensions are 12" x 12" and to lengths up to 10'-
0". Alternate tip design is optional. Standard tolerances are ± 1/4" in length and width, and ± 1/8" in depth.
Tower Performance, Inc.'s Splash Fills - Brentwood Industries, Inc. Brentwood Industries, Inc.
Tower Performance, Inc.'s
splash fill,
TURBOsplash PAC,
manufactured by Brentwood Industries, is designed to provide optimum thermal performance in counterflow cooling
towers with splash applications and in crossflow cooling towers.
TURBOsplash PAC
fill will provide low cost installation, reduced pump head and tower size along with durable, trouble free operation.
It is designed to meet the most stringent cooling tower fill application in the Power, Refining, Petrochemical, Steel,
Chemical Pulp & Paper and Food Processing Industries.
TURBOsplash PAC
can be configured in different spacings and angles which will provide the optimal performance characteristics.
Tower Performance, Inc.'s Splash Fills - C.E. Shepherd Company C.E. Shepherd Company
Tower Performance, Inc.'s
splash fills, manufactured by C.E. Shepherd, offers a complete line of high quality extruded PVC and CPVC cooling
tower fill slats designed for maximum thermal performance for both parallel, and transverse installations.
The
6" Centerlock
fill slats are designed for modern, more efficient cooling towers and require only 2/3 the number of slats of a 4"
fill. The fill is furnished with locking tabs that secure the fill to the fill hanger and prevent rolling and walking
caused by heavy water and air loads, as well as excessive vibration.
The
4" V Bar
is a superior, high quality fill slat exceeding industry standards. Special retainer clips are available for both
standard and heavy duty V Bar.
The
4" Gullwing
fill is an improved 4" fill for high beam strength and maximum performance. Its wider profile increases wetted
surface area, while overlapping increases water travel time, resulting in higher performance through lower pressure
drop in the transverse configuration.
Tower Performance, Inc.'s Opti-Grid Splash Fill Tower Components, Inc.
Tower Performance, Inc.'s
Opti-Grid splash fill, manufactured by Tower Components, Inc., was designed to provide the optimum efficiency in a
counterflow splash fill. After much research, it was found that horizontal strips, in uniformly spaced tiers
throughout the heat transfer area, provided the optimum efficiency. Due to the small surface area exposed to the
failing water,
Opti-Grid
is a truly non-fouling splash fill. It has been used extensively in utilities, refineries, sugar mills, steel mills
and food processing plants where fouling had been extensive. The
Opti-Grid
fill is manufactured to accommodate any standard cooling tower column spacing.
The grid hangers, spacer tubes, washers and barrel nuts are preassembled on the wires prior to installation in the
cooling tower. Grids are hung on the grid hangers and all grid modules in a horizontal tier are secured together with
the grid clips.

Opti-Grid
fill is manufactured from polypropylene in standard 2'x 2'modules. The grids are supported in uniformly spaced tiers
throughout the cell width and length, on stainless steel wires, hung from supports under the water distribution
system, and polypropylene supports, designed specifically to secure the grid to the wires. Each grid in each tier is
secured to all adjacent grids by special clips, which tie the entire fill assembly securely in place.
Polypropylene is resistant to atack from acids. alkalis, hydrocarbons, and biological and chemical attack.
Opti-Grid
contains U.V. inhibitors and can withstand continuous operating temperatures of up to 175°F.
Tower Performance, Inc.'s Opti-Bar Splash Fill Tower Components, Inc.
Tower Performance, Inc.'s
Opti-Bar splash fill is a patented product developed by Tower Components, Inc. in 1993 for crossflow and counterflow
cooling tower heat transfer applications.

The patented tubular design offers greater strength than existing splash bars in order to span greater distances
between wire supports. The design configuration allows Opti-Bar to be secured in the wire mesh supports and held firmly
in place without the use of additional support pads, which are commonly required by other splash fill designs.
The mesh design of Opti-Bar eliminates the streaming and channeling of water common with standard bar fills, and the
open areas between mesh strands allows water droplets to pass through the bar and be cooled by the air passing under
the bar. The dead space, typically found under other bar-type fills is a major design flaw that degrades tower
performance.
Opti-Bar is manufactured from High Density Polyethylene, which is resistant to chemicals and biological attack, acids,
alkalis and hydrocarbons. Opti-Bar can be manufactured in any length you specify at no additonal cost.
As an option, Opti-Bar is available with a flame spread rate of < 25 using Polypropylene and flame retardant
additivies.
Opti-Bar is manufactured to a nominal width of 4-1/8" and height of 1-1/4". When Opti-Bar is installed in standard
4 x 4 or 4 x 8 wire mesh, the 4-1/8" wide bar compresses slightly to secure the bar in the wire mesh. No additional
supports or attachments are required to secure Opti-Bar to the wire mesh.
Tower Performance, Inc.'s PVC Lath Splash Fill Brentwood Industries, Inc.
Tower Performance, Inc.'s
PVC Lath Splash fill is designed for cooling of power plant, petrochemical, HVAC and other process cooling waters
in crossflow cooling towers where a direct replacement for wood lath fill is required. The PVC Lath is fabricated from
rigid PVC that is uneffected by cooling water and UV protected. The fill material is resistant to rot, fungi, bacteria
and inorganic/organic acids and alkalies as commonly found in cooling towers.

The PVC Lath is extruded from PVC into a rectangular profile of 1-1/2" x 3/8". The top surface of the Lath exhibits
a slight crown to allow water to shed efficiently, keeping the top surface from reducing the impact energy of the
water droplets. In addition there is a center stiffening rib to provide lateral stiffness.
